About Us
-
Habitat for Humanity of San
Benito County first formed
in 2004 and
became an official Habitat
for Humanity Affiliate
in 2005. We have spent the
past few years raising
capital to begin
construction and we are
pleased to announce that we
will start our first two
rehabilitation projects this
spring.
With the building moratorium
in Hollister and the one
percent growth cap in other
areas of the County, we have
determined that
rehabilitation is a good
place for us to start. In
2007, we
advertised for low-income
homeowners in San
Benito
County
to apply to us for
affordable home repairs and
we selected two families to
rehabilitation of their
homes.
Construction work on the
home began in the
spring of 2008. This
year, 2010, we expect to complete
2 Brush
of Kindnesses by the end of
the year. We
will continue to
rehabilitate housing until
we are confident that the
new-construction of housing
is feasible and at that time
we will pursue single-family
home construction.
Our timeline for
rehabilitation for 2010 is as follows:
May - June 2010:
NOW ACCEPTING
APPLICATIONS FOR:
Rehabilitations &
Brush of Kindnesses
Find & Execute contracts
